It really feels weird to me since the time change its getting dark so early. Normally that means we are pretty much on the downhill side of things, but we've got a long ways to go like this. I don't mind working after dark except if I get sent to a different farmer and have to find someplace new in the dark. Oh and the deer of course.....hate them deer after dark!![]()

18% ! Guys around here would kill for corn that dry! The corn dad and brother shelled today was 23-24%. They are getting it out, not thinking twice about it. Stalk quality could become an issue the longer it has to stand out in the field.

thanks for understanding folks, glad i did not offend anyone. just for the record i have never field hauled that far,i just was trying to get a cheap laugh. i am like you r.w. ,would kill for 18% corn, i don't think i have unloaded 1 load that hasn't had to be kicked out of the gravity bed wagon this year, its all been 21% or higher,it won't flow! we had some high wind here 2 days ago and blew about 30% of a neighbors 125 acre corn feild down, what a mess!!! stalk quality and ear flex is terrible with all the rain .i beleive we'll try different variety corn next year. looks like yeilds are going to be great though.... 180 bu.-210 bu. if folks can just get it out its got to be hauled somewhere soon so maybe we'll be busy as bees soon!
