Once you get south of Tampa on 75 I don't recall there being anymore rest stops except the weigh station in Punta Gorda area.

Plenty of small towns to pull off to though.

There are actually 3 or 4 more south of Tampa. You have a couple near the Gateway exit just east of Cape Coral. And you have a couple of more on Alligator Alley. On another note, if you haven't stopped there, you HAVE to stop in the rest area on I-10, exit 160. It's on the Apalachicola River and state forest. Absolute beautiful. The definition of "serenity". You will want to do a 34 reset there when you see it. A cool little tidbit of info, it is where the time zone changes between EST and CST.

Better than Indiana, where they keep cutting out the cutout they been cut out six months prior, for the past...however long it's been, and then close down 100 miles of freeway for one 20-foot section...

Well, them federal hurricane dollars are something else, ain't they? And of course they don't have to worry about salt brine and snow removal material tearing up their asphalt. Side note: the 10 across the Panhandle might be the smoothest stretch of freeway in the whole country.

    (Sometimes I miss home...)

The rumors of x1Heavy's demise are greatly exaggerated.
