I came through there probably just after the pile up
Something like 18 degrees. Rain. And everyone was driving like it was blue skies and sunshine

At this particular location, the southbound traffic was in a slight downgrade. The accident happened in the two lane express lanes bridge over the Trinity River where there was a concrete barrier on both sides of the traffic. Can't slow down and nowhere to go. They are still pulling vehicles off the top of the pile to get to those buried under them and the statistics will only grow. Just wonder if the FedEx driver will be on a plane to Mexico or a plane to Europe tomorrow?

I stayed shut down for the day. Between the weather and the idiots acting invincible my days pay just ain't worth it.

I’m thinking the same for the weekend
Took forever to make it to Waco. I deliver just down the road tomorrow. Was going to make it today by 11am but speeds were 10mph

it’s supposed to be ice all weekend
Might be better to take a 72 hour break

There was no shortage of multi fatality pile ups back in the day.

Information/news did not spread instantly as it does now. There may be a perception issue.

I have lived in the DFW area for 20yrs. It is well known every year we get these ice storms & they are never prepared for it. They usually send out the salt trucks after it starts to fall.

Also, it doesn't help everyone drives like it is NASCAR there. Speed limit is 70 in the metroplex and most ppl are still speeding.

Not from the area but was thinking the exact same thing
    Why are they being reactive?
