Last January I got in a wreck due to faulty radar mitigation system on my truck. The radar sensor kept detecting objects closer than it really was and would lock up the brakes. It literally caused me to jack knife and wreck the truck. I had complained and complained and all they kept doing was having me go to one of their mechanics instead of Freightliner. I was literally on my way to a Freightliner after this load before wrecking.
Long story short, this mega carrier reported a rollover on my DAC. I did not roll the truck, the truck went off road slammed through a ditch and into some trees but the truck did not roll over. I'm very upset about this because after the accident I swore I would never drive again and now after covid-19 I've gotten another job in this industry. I still have a little PTSD from that accident. What pisses me off so bad is this company is lying and is negatively affecting my future career in this industry. I just recently found out through another carrier that I was very interested in working for that this mega carrier reported a rollover on my DAC. What can I do about this? I tried reaching out to higher right and it's pretty much whatever they(mega carrier) say their word is bond. I provided higher right a copy of the accident report. It does not say roll over and nor does it say I'm at fault. I really wanted to get a job with this company but it seems most carriers will not hire a driver with a rollover on their DAC. This company I'm working for right now pays decent. the problem is my sleep schedule is so out of whack. it's pretty much LTL and it's high pressure Monday through Friday. My final thoughts on the subject matter...
1. Never work for a mega carrier that is self-insured.
2. If the mega carriee has their own app, log off while off duty.
3. If your truck has rear-facing cameras and microphones... Disconnect microphones.
4. Yes, you can't trust mega carriers.

I would call a lawyer. Someone needs to put a stop to these faulty collision avoidance systems although I wouldn't doubt that they were able to get product liability immunity by bribing Congress.

Just curious as to why you're anti-microphone. Did they use the audio against you somehow?

Find a job with a smaller, but reputable company, that can see through the BS of DAC reports, collision avoidance systems, and nanny cameras with microphones.
They're out there.JC1971 Thanks this. -
I won't purchase trucks with a collision system, the only cameras are one that the driver install's on their own. Just curious, the video would show that there was/wasn't anything in front of you. The computer download would show whether the system applied the brakes or you did.

The amount of companies that use dac is small to the amount that don't.
Apply to non dac companies. If you didn't get a ticket that may work in your favor. Provided it's not in the reported database.
