Need Some Advice....

There's a truckload of stuff that goes with this.

I mostly don't give out too much advice on teaching people how to compete with me.

Here's a start, you can go from there-

Ask yourself-

What relationship are you going to have with these drivers? There's no way you're going to see a good load, call DooBob, let him mull it over, then try and book it. Cause it's gone. So they are REALLY going to have to trust you.

It takes time to develop. One F up erases ten atta boys. Once you get a bit established, and that's only through blood, sweat, and tears, unless you're kin to someone, then they'll call you with your choice of picks. But you better take one if you want to keep that kind of repor going.

What kind of freight are you well versed in? I'm really good with van. Don't have even a clue about the rest.

How are you going to be paid?

What are you going to do when DooBob breaks down? When DooBob's load cancels? Gets afu, now his HOS are whacked, or the shipper is closed.

Now times that by 5 or 10.

You can't go aw F it, you have an obligation to these guys/gals.

And no one cares about your sad DooBob stories. You do or do not.

I think you win or you don't. And fairness really doesn't factor into that.

I have a friend that does this in Atlanta, she handles 10 drivers with their own authority, and from what I can tell, you have to babysit a bunch of cry babies that can't seem to handle a phone call or at least speak with civility to a broker. So, they have to use her, she has to treat them like shes the boss most of the time. Your mileage may vary though
