The only Kings that live up to their reputation and deserve the King part in their name are Gypsy Kings...and Elvis deserved it too.
Or King Kong - the giant ape that came to New York and was shut down by helicopters...

Yes, of course my man. But I'm talking about layovers here. I was already at the receiver. It's just after load is done, they go silent and stealth mode.

You both have a common intrest here, you both want to get paid. A simple contract E-mailed to your broker spelling out each parties responsibility in getting freight delivered and your payment should be fairly easy to execute, even before the freight is picked up. If the document is not acknowledged or signed the freight doesn't get picked up or delivered.

For some reason TQL does not value the truck driver as much as the shipper. TQL is just fine with an upset truck driver, but will bend over backwards for the shipper in keeping them happy.

You got to have them both to make it work, but they only have considerations for the shipper

TQL is every driver's nightmare. Although watching a dispatcher bend over backwards for once can be a pleasure to witness, it often means having to go way out of your way as a driver and stress like no tomorrow.

They are always 20-30% below average on their quotes to begin with. Be careful with them. You have to know what lanes are paying. Getting accessorials is like pulling teeth with them and the hourly rate is laughable.

I used to work at TQL. They absolutely hate truck drivers. Every broker on the floor talks about how they don’t even think of drivers as humans. It’s easy to rip off people when you don’t think of them as humans.
I quit because they are a terrible company and I hated being forced to beg companies for business who either didn’t want to work with us or simply didn’t have freight at the time.

Being new, I’ve already heard enough bad stuff about them I won’t even give them a shot. My very first vehicle is now two weeks past due on payment. We have been emailing them everyday requesting payment. This industry seems to be full of dirtbags. Not sure why. It is so regulated it would seems that would control people from abusing the system. Recourse seems tough because to accept a load, the brokers have all the leverage. Short of not delivering the freight until payment, this may very well happen again.
