I don’t think he documented every load, but he had to do baby steps to move up in landstars system.

Oh yeah, I do remember some about that. They had levels where you have to haul bigger and bigger loads until you get to unlimited size, more or less. I need to go back through that thread with a fresh pair of eyes, now that I have a more experienced perspective. I like threads that evolve and become a journey like that. Yes, the journey began, and look where it went. One day...

That rate is very low for the dims. You do realize it would of taken longer to get there with restrictions you would of had ....ie daylight running and possible curfews involved. My opinion that rate should of been double plus permits.

Thanks for turning me on to this thread. I will give it a read. Ironically enough, the above post by @catalinaflyer is about my first truck when I came to SPD. I ran the #### out of that old freightliner, then moved into another one of his old trucks, now he’s my travel agent and I’m in my third truck here. I think they’ve given me a nicer ride each time.

It was just 10' wide. Other dimensions legal. If it would have changed my route, I don't think it would have been much. I was going to run daylights, because I couldn't get my hands on some clearance lights fast enough. Didn't look like I would have to worry about any curfews in each state, but I'm only about 90% sure on that. I was giving them a read to even see if it was possible for me. So something along the lines of $5.50 per mile, plus permits for that load?

    blairandgretchen and cke Thank this.

    It begins with 10' wide...
    Next its 6 axles, 7 axles, 8 axles, 11, 13...
That 10' load will open a new can of worms. OSOW makes 8'6" and 80K boring.
