Don't forget warp, you go on a student trip from Missoula down to L.A. This gives you real experience with Logs, Qualcomm, Trip envelopes, heavy traffic, tight turns, you name it. I learned more on the trip than I did in the whole 30 days, which is saying a lot. So many invaluable lessons on that trip, as I stated in my posts prior. Well worth the money in my opinion.

So, when you say you went to LA, was it to a customer, or to the SFS terminal? That place looks kind of small to have to get a truck into and out of, but what do I know...I'm not even a student yet!
Do ya have any pics of your truck you can post? -
-
We are speaking of the "terminal" on Carmenita Rd, correct? And there is another drop yard nearby....
That is one crazy area. The way you have to get off the freeway and all....the 5 is the oldest interstate in the area and it really shows....get more than 3 vehicles on it at any one time and have instant gridlock! I hate that freeway....well actually I hate almost all of them in SoCal, as I've driven them all too many times.
oh, by the way, I was speaking with Roxy today and she has good things to say about both you and S2BT....sounds like WS is a close knit family that knows YOU, not just your truck number. -
Ya, I can call my dispatcher already and he knows me by name. Actually very suprised. Yah it's certainly a unique place and everyone is really great and good to get along with. There's the few that are nearly intolerable (drivers) but overall, great bunch of people! -
I am still so surprised by how great the people are so far at WS....I was out running errands yesterday and when I came home, there was a message from Roxy just checking with me to see if everything is going ok...thats pretty cool to me. I have my physical of Friday, so keep your fingers crossed for me that all works out!
Stay safe out there.... -
Lynchmob, do you know anything about W/S 3 man rotation they advertise? Sounds sweet 2 weeks on 1 week off. Have you been able to talk with any of the drivers if this works? Mostly drop and hook at their yards, and or dedicated routs? Thank you.

Thank you for the replies. I'm just looking around for now trying to figure out where I would fit in. I drive local out of Philly currently but the company I'm with is struggling. Run PA, NJ, NYC, DE, and MD but home every night so that's cool. Very back-breaking and not too sure how much longer I'll be doing it or want to do it. The problem is every place I've contacted is telling me six months to a yr experience is needed. Funny, I run NYC to Baltimore and in between but I'm not qualified. I guess I'd have to call W/S to see what they have to say.

Thanks Lynchmob, I am still lucky to be employed but that could change in the near future. I have done OTR back in the late 90's and might have to go back. I did the team thing durring training then solo after that and looking back I kind of liked the teaming once I got used to nights, call me crazy. I just liked the fact of having another set of eyes looking for shippers because they are not displayed like a fast food joint on the side of the street and not dealing with the shippers every time. But on the other hand I was sleeping good in Seattle on the move and my partner says wake up and I rubbed my eyes thinking it was my turn and then he yells again wake up and get up here I can't see. I flew out of that bunk like a bird to find out the wipers were not working in a rain storm.
If you ever bump into a 3 driver rotation team just ask if it works most of the time. Right now I am not in the position to waste the recruters time. You ever get up to the Spokane, WA area much? Busy area for you? Thanks again and be safe.
