There are a lot of threads on refrigerators and freezers but they all say the use a dorm size fridge or something like that. Almost none of them list the cubic foot size.

What is the cubic feet of the refrigerator freezer that you guys use? And what size can I use if I take the front seat out?

I Would imagine one that's too large would draw on the batteries too much but one that's too small would not be useful.

What do you use? Brand model and size would be helpful.

I used to have a 4.3 where the passenger seat should be.
Better to use a pure sine inverter if its your truck but a modified sine wave will do the job.
Bigger ones do not really seem to use much more power.
Check the yellow tag when you buy one and it will show you which ones are more efficient
I like to use gorilla tape to hold the door shut

They make some low voltage fridge freezer for camping but they are really expensive. They are made for real off road camping. Dometic is one, there are a couple other brands. Your looking at $700 and up. They can run on 120v or 12v they can run for days on 12v because it they have a special compressor. Dometic used Danfoss compressor. I read they make their own now but those Danfoss compressor are made for low voltage. You might not want to that much into a fridge. It's interesting to see how they can be made to last a long time and use less energy.

4.1cf Frigidaire. It has a lock on the bottom of the door which is perfect for some of the roads and lots you'll go through. My only gripe is that the freezer is unreliable and it doesn't matter if the truck is running or not. Either nothing freezes or the entire fridge might ice over.

I have one of the off road versions mentioned and it was expensive. However, it is about 10years old now and still going strong. What I'm thinking of doing when I redo my sleeper is put in a larger dorm fridge in. Then take out the passenger seat and put in a small deep freeze chest freezer. That way I can load up at Costco cheap.

As good as these are I'm not sure why anyone uses anything else. Mine is 4.6 cu.ft.

Home : TruckFridge- Americas Leader in Semi-Truck Refrigerators

Right off 75 in Georgetown KY, east side behind the Pilot. They will install. I used to install them in campers I built, rebuilt. I've probably had 10 or more. Never had one fail.

Mine is a T130, had to modify cabinet to fit but will fit weeks worth of food. Half gallons/2 liters fit in the door. Doesn't bother my batteries for about 5 days.

Is it my imagination or has the price of those TF units really come down?
I remember them as very expensive
