Nowadays there's so many things that are from China and expensive, where do you buy a good quality inverter that will do the job?
Is it okay if I get one from Harbor Freight and get the warranty?
Best place to buy inverter?

Cobra is a pretty well known brand. My first 2500 watt inverter that I bought from them lasted several years.
Pretty sure regardless who the manufacturer is, most inverters come from China.

I just have a yellow 3000w inverter from love's. It will operate an angle grinder and the refrigerator if the truck is running. Hook it up with 0 gauge cables and an appropriate sized breaker and you'll be fine. SOME electronics require a 'pure' or 'true' sine inverter, though. Those are a bit more expensive and the higher wattage ones can be found at rv centers.

I have a Schneider electric/xantrex unit. Good quality stuff and been around a long time. Same as I used in my house.
Edit: stick with pure sine wave. Itis easier on electronics in the long run.Last edited: Mar 2, 2021
