Can I pull a 53 foot trailer with this truck?

That is a class 8 commercial tractor designed to haul 53 foot trailers with an 80,000 gross vehicle weight.

 

If I were you I would take that to your nearest waystation and talk with the officers in charge and ask them. I have always driven a full-size and I can’t tell from the picture if that is a full-size truck. I don’t see why not but I don’t wanna see you get in trouble. I think the 5300 is probably the combined weight on all of your axles for the tractor and then you would add the weight on the trailer tandem axles but I am not 100% sure

That is a TRANstar. It is possible that you could do 80k gross with that truck. They are often used as city tractors. It would depend on the ratings for the truck. You should find the placards on the driver side door frame. They will have the axle rates listed, as well as GVWR.
