Now that I've been awake awhile I do feel a little more well rested than usual.
I wonder if the 4hrs of cpap sleep is equivalent to my normal 8hrs of sleep lmao. I feel pretty good all things considered. Calmer maybe?

Got my next assignment, looks like I'm finally headed to the northeast. Going on a 2000 mile round trip to deliver in PA, NJ, and MD. Mostly MD. Should be fun.

 

It's been awhile since I last updated, I haven't had the energy lmao. I've confirmed the validity of the rumors of how bad the northeast region can be. This last 2 weeks I've been running around between PA, NJ, MD, and VA. Baltimore, Philadelphia, and some parts of Washington DC were extremely challenging.

I did Baltimore last week, in MD there were some Home Depots in places where Home Depots should not be. I had to do some crazy stuff to get in and out of some loading areas. There was one place where I had to drive through a really narrow alley, tractor first, and I could only get half of my trailer into the loading zone. Luckily the stuff I was delivering was at the front of my flatbed, otherwise I would've had to back all the way into the alley and probably crawl out the window or something to get out of my truck. Another place in the Baltimore area which seemed like a rougher part of Baltimore, had all of the gates to get into the place locked. It took the people there like an hour to find someone that actually knew how to open the gate. It was wild.

Philadelphia had me at my wit's end. I had to use 3 different GPS to figure out how to get out of some serious predicaments in Philadelphia. There were a lot of roads blocked off, some of the GPS were in agreement, but some weren't. Jill tried to take me places I SHOULD NOT be. There was one street that none of my GPS had marked as closed, and at one point I ended up on a street where there was no way out but to go through a blocked off construction zone. I had to get out and talk to some construction guys that were working on the overhead electrical lines for a trolley system, and they we're nice enough to open the barricades and clear a way for me to get through. Getting in and out of downtown Philly was pure unadulterated stress, but I still managed to make all of my deliveries on time and didn't rip any mirrors off, run anything over, or tear any signs or poles out of the ground; so I guess it was a success. I felt like something bad was going to happen any moment, but thankfully everything worked out in the end. By the time I got to the truck stop that day I felt like I was braindead from the stress. I just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. I took the shower and I was so tired and worn out; as soon as I got back in the truck I passed out with all of my clothes on.

Washington DC wasn't as bad in terms of claustrophobia and construction, but the way some of DC's roads and interstates are set up can be extremely confusing and I missed an exit a couple times.

By the way, the CPAP has actually been working really well, despite my skepticism at first I'm glad I have it now. I noticed when I'm at a really quiet rest area or OC like Carlisle I'm able to sleep almost through the whole night. Truck stops tend to get pretty noisy and I think it wakes me up in the middle of the night sometimes, even with the CPAP. Last night I slept at a rest area somewhere near Dale City, VA and got some really really good sleep. My CPAP said I got almost 9 hours of CPAP sleep which is a record for me, usually I end up taking it off around 4 or 5 hours.

I feel like my loads are getting increasingly more difficult, maybe my DTL for this account is just trying to see just how much I can take lmao. Surprisingly, I've been getting better and better at meeting all of my appointment times despite the locations becoming more difficult. Last week I finished all of my deliveries a couple hours early and I got as far away from Baltimore as I possibly could before truck stops started filling up.

Finished up all of my deliveries for this week, I'm currently headed back to Georgia to drop off this MT, take a 34, and figure out what challenges next week will bring. I stopped at this huge Petro in Raphine, Virginia that is basically a trucker mall with like 500+ parking spaces. Really cool spot.

My trainer actually told me this as well. He said he preferred a reefer to an apu even, said the apu sound was an acquired taste lmao.

The other night it was warm enough for me to try to sleep with the truck idling, but I woke up like 2 hours into being asleep freaking out thinking the truck was moving down the road and somehow I had fallen asleep while driving... Even though I was in my bed haha. After a few seconds I remembered that I was in bed to go to sleep, but my heart was already in my shoes and I was petrified. I'm not used to sleeping with the truck idling just yet.

 

Oh man that sounds like one hell of a rude awakening wow.

 

Also, I made it back to Georgia. Just started my 34 at the Atlanta OC, had to come here to pick up some CPAP supplies.

Thinking about maybe renting a Tesla or something tomorrow through Turo or something. I need to do something fun lol I feel like I've been grinding nonstop.

Kinda want some of the Lemon pepper wings that ATL is famous for.

Also, im wondering when will I be able to wash my truck and when do I get an oil change? I think I'm probably going to turn over 400k on my next run. Was looking at the trip counter I started back in February and I've put 10k on this truck since I started driving lol.
