Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

Unless there is a setting that disables the forced shift option, I am leaning towards a malfunction. It use to work, but then it quit...same with the 2021. Unless it's just a tease of a function that new/rehires get to use for a limited time. Who knows, I just know that as gutless as these trucks are locked in economy mode, they need all the help they can get.

 

It appears that they are testing (or getting ready to test) Drivewyze. We got a message telling us how to turn it on...but then got another message saying don't because there is some sort of licensing problem. Personally, I don't want it...I have had it before and compared to Prepass, it sucks. Besides, the update they sent out earlier this week that gave us a speedometer on the Peoplenet has slowed my unit down so bad, I would be affraid to add any thing else. Knowing the way they do things here, it must be cheaper...but just like the trucks they buy, you get what you pay for.

 

So what would you do if you had both (according to my Assistant Fleet Manager it's not gonna be optional) and one gives you a bypass, and the other a redlight...that's assuming they continue to allow the continued use of the Prepass once it's up and running.

 

Yeah, I had Drivewyze when I started there while Paul tried to figure out why my company Prepass wouldn't work. I used it for the free month, then shut it off...it was almost useless, except, like @radioshark mentioned, bypassing the St. Croix scale was great.

 

I am wondering if Shaffer is gonna continue to allow us to keep our driver funded Prepass or not, just to eliminate the possibility of 2 boxes giving different responses. Knowing how anal these people can be, I can see them forbidding Prepass if they keep the other.(they are just suppose to be testing them, so maybe enough negative driver feedback will convince them not to get it).
