Considering some of the world leaders we have had over the centurys.....how much worse could they truely be? Worst case is they kill us all off just a bit faster then our own human leaders are apt to do.

If I’m reading your post correctly

You are saying your truck just gets scared and hits the brakes and that it is us the drivers who are in the vehicle while it records data so the manufacturers can make any adjustments for the future autonomous vehicles?

    If so
    Mine has done just that.
Brand new 2021 truck that for no reason would hit the brakes and usually in heavy rain or ice
After many trips to the dealers I was finally told to take the cover on the bumper off

I did that a few weeks ago and so far it has not acted as previous so for now I’m thinking that it’s fixed

    Na,

    1. We still easily 15 years out soonest.

    2. My guess they will still need a truck driver in a autonomous truck.. they still won't fuel. themselves as much is I can't stand. unions. actually probably help us out here And demand Congress make it a law for "safety" To have a truck driver in the truck

    3. Technologies go to move along whether you like it or not Ask the horse-and-buggy businesses in early 1900's

If you think a human in the truck is going to help, its not. For starters they won't be paying attention either from boredom (due to absolutely FA to do), or they'll be watching movies, on phone etc.

I think cross country freight will move by rail before it will move by autonomous truck.

And even if trucks do become autonomous, they will still be required to have a driver just like airliners have a captain who manually performs the takeoff, landing, and taxiing maneuvers.

Not sure about automatic collection on the unit and it's false collision data but my company wants drivers to fill out a form with a detailed condition and specific highway info...we would if it happened rarely but is sometimes a daily occurrence.

We get a automatic panic brake, along with the bells and buzzers, whenever it senses an impending collision.
Sometimes it's a overhead shadow or sunlight or a reflection from an overpass or sign, others it's a right curve on a 2 lane when the radar grabs the on coming vehicle and brakes. Today it hit me up when I came upon a rig in left turn lane as I approached in regular travel lane at speed, bout soiled myself.
I've become a bit skittish using the cruise on 2 lane roads. The only good thing about the pending snow tomorrow is that it will cover it up and renders it useless..like it is.
