Why do truckers creative park when there are tons of open spaces?

    I go park by myself on back row nose first.
    That way some mega #### box fleet driver doesn’t destroy my truck.
    I very rarely park in truck stops especially not the big ones. Usually smaller stops

    If you creative park away from spaces then you don't have to worry about Swift backing into you and leaving with your bumper

    Meh, growing up small town, 1800s house, no ac, window faced a freight track 60 feet from the house. Never had a problem sleeping near trains then or in my truck. Reefers or my own truck idling can get to me worse than that

    In reference to opies question:

    I believe there is a contingent that abhors backing. Likely they are the ones often found along highway exit ramps or alongside the highway (often with mirror hanging over the white line ;-) as well. While this has not been conclusively determined, it remains my base case hypothesis for the forementioned phenomena.
