Here is my issue with that line of thought. It seems to be a popular one amongst a certain crowd.

How does one define a nation? If not with a common language, morals, standards, beliefs and culture. You start to tear that down and what are you left with? A person that can't even read a Christmas card from their grandmother is pretty sad. A nation that can't even read the documents of its forefathers, is a nation that is lost.

Edit: I forgot to add a defined border aswell.

Specially in the South region... Lots of descendants of Germans there... lots of blond people too... very different from folks from other regions...

Going to disagree with most of this. Learning to write in the cursive style has more to do with the neural system. It has been proven that writing in this style builds stronger connections within the brain. Cognitive functions and fine motor skills are greatly enhanced. Writing in cursive, the continuous flow also allows for more focus on content and grammar. Writing complete words, rather than just letters, improves information retention, spelling.

Poetry is a completely different topic and discussion.

I met my wife on Prodigy. We did much of the same, e-mail, phone calls and the like. Will be 30 years this year. She is 6 months younger than me. We were in our 30’s when we got married.

    Whoa... I had no idea..
I think I'm about 10-11 years older than you,? but they really seemed to prioritize how important it was to have legible cursive handwriting..

Not being condescending, but I want to say it was around the 3rd grade we switched over from pencil (now only math class) to ink pen & began learning this "important" form of handwriting..

I can see how it's becoming used much less now with everything being electronic, but how do you sign the BOL's, rate con's, bank checks or legal documents.? Heck voter ID I believe in FLA is verified by signature, especially so when doing absentee ballot..

I never really had much success with online dating. I've grown to hate it. Its too impersonal. I think many people forget there's another human on the other side of the screen.

I prefer approaching a woman in real life. At least most don't just straight up ignore you if you can actually string together a few coherent and intelligent words lol.

I used to have nice cursive writing skills. Alas, it is a skill I have lost. Sign of the times I guess.

I don't think it is the same song and dance. I agree, there have always been and always will be generational differences. however going along with my last few post, I think there is a bigger issue at play. Our younger generations don't hold the same values or morals or skills of the past. Let me expand. Look at these antifa fools . Out burning down and piluging their own neighborhoods. Look at what is being taught or not taught in our schools now. Now it is OK to be socialist or communist. Heck it is celebrated in most public schools now. So no, I disagree. There are bigger issues at play than a taste in music.
