Because they are scared to death and nobody taught them to read a map or look at Google maps

well maybe he wanted to go hunting and was trying find a good place to hide he failed so he can try again next company me personally i prefer fishing but i imagine trying throw a line out while driving 60+ mph kinda hard to do so normally call cab on day off use my telescopic rod closes up next to nothing and can reel in big ### red fish the rod and reel when pulled out is 8ft but when closed up fits in a grocery bag i throw a few hooks and weights my homemade bait and good to go.

More than likely Google maps got them in that position. Driving following directions when you realize it's not a truck route, turn down a road hoping you can find a way to turn around, and then your 2nd bad decision just compounded the previous. To top it off, you're now in an area with no cell service so you can't look up the route you're on, and likely unable to even call for help.

This is just another version of hitting the low overpass, all because somebody is too frkn stupid to STOP DIGGING.

Well I have taken bullracks on roads in the hills that look very similar to what can be seen in the picture... The difference though, is that I had a reason to be on such a road... Cattle had to be hauled in and out of the summer range.

Yes, I have seen bullracks stuck like that, and worse, doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing. But yet again they had a reason for being there.

That frieght hauler obviously had NO reason to be in the hills. It completely boggles my mind why someone would take an asphalt queen truck onto a road like that... SMH

Who uses a socket set to unload a trailer? There’s so many of them. They can just form a long line. Pass the product down the line. To a trailer waiting on a legitimate road.

I doubt if any relatively new truck GPS would have let him get there. More than likely he was using Google maps.

Back in 05 when GPS was still a new thing, I had one of the first Garmin units in my personal vehicle and drove a few hours to visit a friend in Klamath Falls OR. When I got to town, it took me through several rural neighborhoods, and then over a fire road, through the city cemetery, and finally to his house. I didn't use one again until I started driving truck, and always with a weary eye.

yup. I find it halarious that these people will use google maps but not flip it over to sat view to check the road. More then once i have cross checked a road in my atlas if it looks sketchy from orbit or i see bridges. I also tend to call the #### shipper and VERIFY MY DIRECTIONS. Many shippers will warn you off bad roads or know the best way for a truck to get in safely. Especially in places where a truck is normally not allowed.

I agree! That truck didn't end up in that position going forward, it was going backwards.
