Canadian Driver looking for work south of the border

We consider south of the border to be Mexico . Maybe you should have triple citizenship .

 

You'll have to choose one or the other ( Canadian residence & Canadian license or US residence & US license ). As you may well be aware, holding 2 licenses is illegal.

Be that as it may, dual citizenship or not, it really doesn't open up a lot of oppurtunities, due to interstating ( cabotage ) regulations in both countries. If this was the EU, the opportunities would have been vast, but this is north America.

At the end of the day, you're not really much better off than someone who has single citizenship, but is able to drive across the border.

It's not just about your citizenship status. It also would depend on whether the company that you're hauling for, is eligible to engage in cabotage in either / both Canada & the US. It's debatable whether there are any such companies on either side of the border.

 

When otr I drueled over the equipment of some Canadian companies ... like scotlynn, dfs, etc. Why come down here to be paid less, and drive less desirable equipment?

 

And get in line behind the 91,000 people that lost jobs in the industry this year as well as God knows how many students schools cranked out this year .
