Have anyone of heard of a driver getting paid a percentage or commission of a load. Because there’s a company near me that does that.

25 percent seems common but today I saw an ad for 33 percent.

I've seen 1099 paid a percentage of the gross.
The owner had a small number of trucks and a good chunk of business he brought to the carrier where we worked. He had a few long term drivers who kept doing the same accounts over and over.
One quit for the reason that his percentage had not changed in 12 years...BUT the owner had appreciated his service by paying him the original amount for 12 years as the marketplace pushed the gross down and the owner kept taking the loss...two sides to every storyCoffey, 88228822, Doealex and 1 other person Thank this. -
Lots of W-2 companies pay on percentage. TMC is one of them.

Landstar and Mercer pay percentage, and both USA Truck and Schneider have huge percentage pay programs as well. I'm pretty sure JB Hunt does too.

My problem with being paid percentage is how you know how much a load really pays? I hear stories of companies editing rate con.

Many tanker companies pay on percentage. I've run for 2 chemical tanker companies on percentage and I would not have wanted it any other way.

Worked several years for a small fleet (refers) that paid percentage. I got 29.5 of what the truck made.
