Here's a local community college program:

Diesel Service Technician (KDIS) | SLCC

What do you guys think of that program?

Is it still worth becoming a diesel tech or is it not worth it?

Do you need multiple 10s of thousands in tools?

Is it extremely hard on the body? Is there an easier side of it that one could specialize in so its not so hard on the body?

    Thanks guys.

It’s not for you. You have already asked the wrong questions. I’m not trying to be mean or come off like a jerk, I’m just being honest with you

young man that is only a question you can answer for your self. Many of us are truck owners as well as diesel mechanics. Maybe not certified but we do all our own engine work. I happen to enjoy it. Others rather not and pay to have work done. So noone can tell you if its worth it to you. There are things in life i always thought i wanted to do and then find out i didnt want it after trying. Follow your gut. Its either something you want to do and at least try or it isnt. If its something you enjoy very much, money isnt the important factor. How arfe you gonna let a bunch of internet strangers decide your path in life

You will always be buying tools, you can make good money at it. Can be hard on the body. Work smart not hard. Even at that after 20+ years your going to have aches and pains. Use PPE at all times,
Ear plugs, glasses, respirator when grinding sanding or painting, and gloves.
Good quality tools can be found other than tool trucks. The old adage of you get what you pay for is true in tools and tool boxes. But many quality tools out there to be had without snap on, Matco or Mac.

Are you mechanically inclined? Do you enjoy working on mechanical things? If the answer to both of those is not yes than I wouldn't go any farther. No point in training for something that you wouldn't want to spend years doing. IMO

The great ones make it all look easy and get paid great! You will never be out of work.

All of my guys are just average build like me and work smart and not hard.

They could be open 24/7/365 and never be out of things to work on.

It would really come down to what a employer offer$ or if you can do it all on your own you will become rich.
