Here's a local community college program:
Diesel Service Technician (KDIS) | SLCC
What do you guys think of that program?
Is it still worth becoming a diesel tech or is it not worth it?
Do you need multiple 10s of thousands in tools?
Is it extremely hard on the body? Is there an easier side of it that one could specialize in so its not so hard on the body?
Thanks guys.
Is it worth is to become a diesel mechanic still?

You will always be buying tools, you can make good money at it. Can be hard on the body. Work smart not hard. Even at that after 20+ years your going to have aches and pains. Use PPE at all times,
Ear plugs, glasses, respirator when grinding sanding or painting, and gloves.
Good quality tools can be found other than tool trucks. The old adage of you get what you pay for is true in tools and tool boxes. But many quality tools out there to be had without snap on, Matco or Mac.bzinger, God prefers Diesels and tommymonza Thank this. -

The great ones make it all look easy and get paid great! You will never be out of work.
All of my guys are just average build like me and work smart and not hard.
They could be open 24/7/365 and never be out of things to work on.
It would really come down to what a employer offer$ or if you can do it all on your own you will become rich.bzinger and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
