Good. Would you please have him at my place about daylight tomorrow? I'm remodeling my cow barn and I've already butchered three sets of stair risers into kindling.
If I'm not around, just have him cut the stair risers.
    Thanks.

He asked a question I answered it honestly. If you don’t like the answer no need to poke fun. Kind of below a staff member I would think.

Real simple, On Sunday I was 2 plus pack a day smoker, decided that night I was not going to smoke any more, was it difficult, yes, but not more difficult than than breathing thru a little plastic tube pulling a 15 pound bottle around behind you. As put to me by a friend of mines Mom, who was dieing from cancer, also the smell of flesh burning at the place where she received her chemo treatments.
Quitting is a lot easier than going thru a painful agonizing death from smoking. Take a trip thru a cancer ward and them you can decide if you really want to spend your last months, weeks or day coughing up pieces of your broken lungs. (To Quote Jethro Tull / Aqualung)

Seems like a clear choice to me.

I had smoked for 30 plus years. Tried patches , chantix ( generic form ) , hypnosis , and cold turkey. Even had 3 years where i couldn't smoke if i would've wanted to. Always went back to smoking for whatever reason. Now i am remarried and my wife had a heart attack. She quit that very night. I then used chantix again and quit for my wife as well as myself. It'll be 2 years smoke free come august. Everyone has their own means of motivation. I still crave them but i am committed this time enough i hope to stay quit.

I was a pack a day smoker and it'll have been 10 years since I quit later this year. A little trick that I had, I would ask myself:

"Can I make it another minute without smoking a cigarette?"

The answer was always yes. For the first couple of weeks I basically had to make it minute by minute. It took about a year to get over every stupid thing that I associated cigarettes with. The first month I woke up in cold sweats with my heart beating really fast, feeling like it was going to jump out of my chest. Unbelievable how hard it was for me to quit. But I did it cold turkey.

If you have to gain weight don't be afraid to gain weight the first several months after quitting. You can lose it. Also I chewed a LOT of gum the first several months while quitting. Do what you have to do.

I would avoid drinking for at least 6 months if you can and even at 6 months you better be VERY careful. Cigarettes and alcohol will always be associated with each other very strongly for ex smokers.

Good luck OP. There's some online forums which will be good for support as well you can search around for those going through the same thing. Take it minute by minute if you have to and keep track of the days since you've smoked if it gives you good encouragement.

It'll have been 10 years later on this year since I've quit, I was a pack a day smoker. Like you there are still days where I'll get a little craving. It's very light and faint though for me, I don't even know if I could call it a "proper" craving. It's more like sometimes a light bulb goes off in my head and I'll think of cigarettes, but it only lasts for less than a minute and doesn't happen very often. If it does happen it's more likely to happen if I drink but even then it's not strong or anything.

To the OP though don't let this discourage you. The thoughts of cigarettes might always stay with you even decades after you quit but it's NOTHING like the cravings you get the first year that you quit and even when you smoked.

Cold turkey seems to be the way. I'm down to less than half a pack a day from 1.5 packs. Holy hell i can't imagine a 3 pack a day habit

The hardest part for me is after a meal and bordem from driving

43 years ago I smoked a pack a day and wanted to stop, so I bought a 1/4 pound of pot and every time I wanted a cigarette I rolled a joint. After a week I wasn't even thinking about cigarettes.
