Saia pay tops out at 70.5 cpm. $ 10.50 drop and hook. Just be prepared to stay out all week. Delay pay after the 1st hour ( late load closure, breakdown. Long layover after 14 hours off duty while you're out.)

I do not work there but that place sounds solid to me , 30 years ago you couldn't buy a job with the big LTL outfits.
    Good Luck

More than likely start as an extraboard driver. You get hourly pay for delays after 2 hours, etc. Great benefits after 10 years of service health insurance is free. Overall, one of the fastest growing LTL company with good pay.

Given that choice I would definitely pick Estes.

    Is Estes better than Saia?

My company is eliminating my position in July. I've seen that most of the LTL companies are hiring in my area right now. I'm really interested in being a local city driver. I have applied to FedEx, UPS, Saia, and Old Dominion. Estes is hiring too tho.

    In my opinion they are.

Saia may pay better, but I personally couldn’t take their level of micromanagement.

I can understand that. I see all of the different companies and read through the forums. Just trying not to make a dumb move. I'm hoping to get on with a good company and stay there. I don't like to jump around. I have 10 years of local experience. Hopefully a good company will give me a chance.
