I'm in North Carolina. I already had my doubles/triples and tanker endorsements and a week or two ago I went and passed my hazmat test (already did the background check). I got my updated drivers license in the mail today and while I have the correct TX endorsement now, it has a restriction on there that I'm confused about (the restriction wasn't on my old license when I just had the tankers and doubles/triples endorsement).
I searched the NC DOT CDL manual and the code isn't on there. I searched online and I can't find anything.
So it says for Restriction:
*9
And on the back of my drivers license it says:
"RESTR: *9-Hazardous Material Endorsement Expires As Of: XX/XX/XXXX"
I put X's in place of the actual dates but you get the point.
So does anybody know what this restriction is all about? Is it just a way to put on my drivers license when my hazmat expires? But if that's the case why would they put the expiration date of my hazmat endorsement under the "restriction" category?
Passed the hazmat test and new license has a *9 Restriction on it now?
