Why does it kill you. If you felt you were done wrong, who you gonna call? I guess if your home address is sesame street you dont need a lawyer.

@Connie Noel I’m not sure how long your husband was at his job but assuming he was a good employee I would reach out to upper management or the owner. No guarantee of course but speaking to them about the issue may help with your issues. Many states have laws regarding termination for unjust cause. Check with your state attorney general’s office. They are your best resource to get some quick help. If you’re husband was a veteran then also contact the VA in your area. They as well have many resources. Best of luck to you both and I hope it turns out well.

Title clearly states " FIRED FROM WORK FOR CANCER"
That is a case for a lwayer. That is illegal. A simple google will tell you that. You guys arent reading

You could easily say he was fired for taking drugs he's not allowed to take being a cdl holder.
Most likely though they simply have no work for him to do, hence the"firing".

I admit I could be wrong and if they did fire him for getting sick. The more likely thing is they had no work for a cdl driver that can not actually drive.

Friend of mine got out of the Army at the end of the Korean War.
Decades later, at 81 years old, he needed assistance and the VA hospital took care of him even though his problem wasn't service connected.

If your not a lawyer you do not know if he was released for legal cause, a consultation will not cost you anything, and if the lawyer thinks he qualifies he will help you (at no cost) to obtain disability. At any case you need to contact an attorney not other truck driver, not cold its just that we really can't help and an attorney can.

If he was working for an company that is covered by the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), then they have to keep him on as an employee and continue his health insurance for 12 weeks. I think the company has to employ at least 50 people. Other that that, I would contact Medicaid for his state and also the American Cancer Society.

I'd also contact an attorney for assistance in speeding up the SSI benefits along with any other state or federal assistance.

Another thought is, if you know any of your state or federal elected officials, they can do wonders if they are a-mind to do so. I have called on my elected officials & have usually gotten good assistance.
(If you hire an attorney, let him do all the contacting. Don't contact your elected officials if you hire an attorney. Both working on the same issue will just get things screwed up if they aren't working together. Again, if you hire an attorney, let him handle things)
