New to the hotshot/auto hauling world. About to sign up with super dispatch and a lot of loads from backlot are more so up my alley. Do any of you deal with them and hat are the good and bad?

Their rates are lower than average so I don't deal with them; but if you're just starting you can use them to get your feet wet, I guess.

Very cheap rates, I think we have only hauled for them once or twice, I usually just skip right over them.

My observation regarding brokers' rates is that any broker with a name that includes words backlot, bargain, cheap, etc., etc. are not worth my time. I guess I wouldn't be saying this if I was a shipper; what you see is what you get!
P.S. I know customer comes first in any business, but trucking and especially car-hauling should be an exception.Last edited: Apr 19, 2021

Surprised. I actually get pretty decent rates from Backlot. Process has been pretty seamless.

I realize the pickups will be at dealers, but are the majority of the drop offs residential or dealer?

Same here with the minimum CPM; for pickup trucks or larger SUVs though. It's hard for newbies to calculate their costs; especially with fuel and tolls rising lately.

Yeah I seen some crazy low rates of .60 and under even for no ops. There’s no way. Being smaller I have to build a load there and back and come in where I need to be for the trip on an average of the two loads to get to around my rate. I’m doing the cardinal sin. I’m doing this part time to get my business built while working full time at job A and this is Plan B. Trying to build up to have my business and equipment where it needs to be when I make the jump to full time.
