I'm just stressed about doing extra board. Being gone and everything. On top of that their giving me a sleeper truck. I've never done doubles before and now I have too hook em up and use a sleeper. I haven't used a sleeper truck since trucking school in 2015

Also I'm only getting like 3 days of training. I haven't driven in awhile so I'm stressed about not being ready

Most of us only had at the most 3 days of training but you need to get out of this negative mindset ASAP and tell yourself I CAN DO THIS!. You proved to yourself and the trucking school in 2015 you could do the job so do it.

I stepped out of the truck for nearly 10 years to take a bulk sales job at coke.
When the company car and attainable bonuses went away I jumped back in the drivers seat.
Did I make a fool of myself for a day or so? You bet I did and I still do from time to time but I knew I could do it and so can you.

Monday night you’re gonna strap into a white estes sleeper truck and you’ll be fine just take your time and move that freight safely from one terminal to the next. You’re not about to assume the command of a nuclear submarine and its crew you’re driving a truck man.

If you’re not comfortable backing a dolly with a sleeper use your key and grab a single axle to spot your dolly until you’re comfortable doing it.
Once you get to Toledo or WestEx and see the jockeys banging sets together with the dolly attached to the lead I would hope you’ll realize you can back that dolly up behind a tractor without much trouble. Just get in that truck and do it.

I'm just extremely stressed cause it's been so long. Then on top of that I slept maybe 5 hours today. I have to go with someone at 8 tonight. Idk how I'm going to stay awake. Maybe I made a mistake

Take a deep breath and relax. The sleeper is nothing to worry about. Make sure the 5th wheel is all the way back if it slides so you don't rip mudflaps off getting caught in the landing gear. When hooking up a set double check everything. You'll get the hang of it. Just be consistent and take your time.

Do you know what schedule you have yet. Meaning what day of the week will you be starting?

No, said I'm training with people for three days then I guess I'll have two days off or something like that then get into it. He mentioned something about an xboard that you only gone twice a week. I might do that. Just wasn't sure if the money was really bad doing that. I know it's two cents less then extra board.

I wouldn't give a rip about a few cents per mile. A better schedule wins every time.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.
