If I wanted to switch to another company, do most of these companies require you do a new DOT Physical?

I have 11 months left on my 2 year medical

I plan on losing 75-100 pounds within 11 months, been on a diet and workout routine for a couple months now. I have borderline high blood pressure, but my last doctor passed me for a 2yr medical.

I'm concerned if I quit my current company and move to the new company they are going to make me re-take my DOT physical and I end up failing it. Then I'm assuming ill be jobless? I plan to lose the weight and get more healthy before I retake a DOT Physical. I just want a better job before I re-take a DOT Physical

I plan on working for "Koleaseco" and their orientation explains that I'll need to pass a DOT Physical and Drug Test. So I assume they're going g to make me retake my Physical regardless that I have 11 months left on it?

I know at Swift the first thing you do is take a DOT physical and drug test.
That is during day 1 at orientation.

If you had a 'friendly' doc that passed you when you should not have passed, they will catch it.
And that is not unreasonable, in my opinion.

They informed you that they are going to require a new DOT physical, so there is no need to assume.
Monitor your BP, if it is borderline or high, then go to your personal Physician and get it under control.
Don't wait for a stroke or DOT failure to make the decision for you.

Plenty of companies have nothing to do with your dot physical. I work for a 200 truck outfit that just needs a copy of your physical when you get it done. You go to the doctor of your choosing and pay for it yourself. Your physical with 11 months left would be fine to get hired here.

Koleaseco is a good company , lots of office furniture outbound , Herman Miller , Trendway.
They expect you to run hard and legal , slackers and whiners get weeded out.

Got BP meds but I really don't want to use them, rather do it the right way and just lose the weight and cut all the BS out of life. Junk/Soda/Etc
