So no required truck number? Some states as I see was posted, require it for intrastate carriers.

Haven’t had a truck # on any truck in over 20 years. No hassle. No trl #’s either but then I only pull my trl.
Just name of company and Dot#

It helps when you're checking into or out of a guard shack, they have to write it down and they'll always look then ask. It's just easier sometimes to have unit number.

Btw, you guys know if something changed? I've seen a lot of trucks with no company name or dot # lately.

Probabaly from a cop that has ghost letters on his car. Letters that are the same color as the car so you can’t see them .
My state doesn’t allow traffic stops with unmarked cars, but does allow ghost letters .

    I’ve noticed that too.
I see a lot of trucks with zero writing on the side.
No company name no dot number , nothing at all.
Some trucks have it on the step or the toolbox or somewhere that’s not the door , but I’ve noticed a lot that have nothing

    slow.rider and Jaebo74 Thank this.

Exactly, but I've seen a lot of them waved through the scales too.

used to be if they were stopped at the scale a car with a few 'suits' would appear and wave the driver on as they started talking to the scale man...

Unit id numbers are a carrier thing. Bean counter driven down to the branded numbers on the tire sidewall...

We were discussing dot numbers and lack of company name on the sides of these trucks? I'm well aware unit id numbers are just for the carriers.
