You never admitted to screwing up. You did however in your first post blame the ELD on your poor planning ability. Then you claimed you would happily run over hours if only you could use a coloring book, I mean paper log.
So yes, any driver that constantly puts my family at risk because they cannot do their job I want out from behind the wheel. I don't care if it's an o/o or company driver.
All you have so far shown remorse for is getting caught, not for putting the general public at risk so you can make a couple dollars more.
FMCSA investigation due to ELD violations? What to expect?

1. Youre on a 34 in bfark nowhere and need to say go shopping for food
2. You quit your company and are going home
Theres a little bit more but very restricted if someone is looking at you hard
Also, pc miles reduce tax write offs because they can fairly say well, its 90% buisness and 10% personal vehicle, so you shouldnt be able to write off every operating/purchasing expense... food for thoughtTrucker61016 Thanks this. -
you want to know some stupid HOS logic? One of the times i went over about 35 minutes. When i got home i took the entire weekend off. Had my 34 hour reset. I was fully fresh monday morning 9am i picked up a load drove about 2 hours n got flagged to go in the scale. Dot officer said that since i had a violation 3 days ago he has to shut me down for 10 hours. So he wanted me to sit there from 12pm-10pm unable to sleep, then let me start driving at 10pm literally when i will be sleepy. How safe are these HOS rules really keeping you? I was dead tired driving that night, they increased my chances of a crash because of going by the book and not being logical, which i think causes more of a danger. Logic goes a long way, rules can only do so much. I dunno what statistics about crashes being due to driver fatigue. But I also heard most crashes are caused by 4-wheelers.
Who decided 11 hours is the absolute max, theres a lot more than goes into determining driver fatigue. Theres debate whether its safer to let the drive time be longer. I was much more fatigued as a local driver before because the hours were so erratic that i couldn’t really get a good rest and there was much more work climbing in and out dropping and hooking, even though on logs i was driving way less hours.
So just stop with the whole im safer cuz gov’t rules makes me safer. Yeah let them take your guns too, its for your own good.Trucker61016, Bean Jr., Badmon and 1 other person Thank this. -
My point I’m trying to allude to, although it seems a lack of synapse horsepower prevents the recognition, the system we have now still has room for improvement. Not that we will ever have a perfect system, mind you, but we can improve what we have. However, you can’t get there without busting a rule or regulation here or there. Remember when combination lengths were regulated and enforced? Those cramped old kidney relocating cabovers? Were those better for the driver? But oh no no, it’s law we can’t do anything about it but follow it....
You are right in this industry being 99% sheep. But trading the government for dispatch in who to follow still leaves sheep nonetheless.Trucker61016 and Badmon Thank this. -
Drop the sheep thing, this isn’t a case where drivers are following the rules because they are sheep, this is a business, it isn’t a hobby or anything else. In order to be in business we have rules we all have to abide by, those rules are created for the lowest denominator among drivers.

If you use ELD properly they know any move you make so... you make mistake they are notified. Not only that but they know what time, where and your speed
or does your ELD automatically notify them when you have a violation ? -
Bean Jr., Accidental Trucker, peterd and 2 others Thank this.

Not my fault someone was called to answer a question that may have them question their own beliefs in a flawed system they worship. But thems the facts now if it’s “tough cookie”.Trucker61016 Thanks this.
