For independent drivers looking and begging for loads, yes it is a ####hole, easy to get a load to get you in here, but very hard to get you a load going out of Florida.
Walmart doesn't have that problem, driving has 5 DC in FL and they have so much stuff to move around that within FL that is actually one of the best option to drive for Walmart in Florida if you can manage to get in. Many of your destinations will be rural areas, no traffic, no snow, no black ice, driving in Florida has its advantages. Cheap rent, Wide roads, almost zero low bridges.
Last but not least, in FL most of Walmart truck has been out source to WERNER, they have their on office on site, their on shop onsite, so if you get hired most likely you will be working for WERNER not Walmart. -

Plainview, TX is a good DC. Lot's of Windshield time. There aren't any major metropolitan areas around, so that can either be good or bad. Sanger is the next closet DC, but you'd be in Dallas most of the time. New Braunfels goes from Austin all the way down to the Gulf coast. Sealy is Houston area and Western LA. Hope that helps!
