    Ran to Four Oaks then
rolled south to grab a Quickie…
(brooms for HD in Topeka that is)

Boy that dock area at Quickie is a bit tight and awkward. Blind back to bump docks, extra trailers everywhere, yellow posts just to make sure you don’t accidentally leave the concrete… lol … earned my keep for the day.

Heading to Topeka with this load and then hoping to get on a homeward bound load to get home for the weekend.

    stay safe

But Tim mentioned getting more Volvos in the fleet at one of the Safety Meetings a few months ago and I thought it was said they were replacing the Petes with Volvos too but that might have just been rumor as I don’t remember where I heard that from.

Either way, I’ve gotten kind of used to having a real table without having to convert my bed… lol

You are right about Quickie in Lumberton. I know I have stretched air lines getting turned around. Not a fan of blind side backing.

I wasn’t sure I could even get turned around… next time I’m there I think I might consider coming in the receiving side and come around the building. The only downside there is that there were empty trailers in the area that the cab would need to swing through for a sight sided back.

Guess I need practice on my backing… lol

Oh I know… I have my eye on a cute little drone that I could send out from my window and hover in place over my truck so I could see from above… I already have the sales pitch prepared for the wife to justify the purchase… :D

but at least getting in and out of the truck multiple times during a back is exercise… so that’s a good thing… I guess… lol

Just don't do it on a Saturday pickup because that far gate is locked.

    *flatbed*

Get back on track from missing my shipping window on Monday (slow unloads) and deliver my load of gearboxes and electric motors to Pocatello around noon.

Get my reload info to go pickup “no tarp bagged palletized soil products” from Rexford ID to Parker CO. It’s a broker load to get me back in our lanes. Appointment set for Friday morning.

    Got my homeward bound load yesterday from KC… heading back to Four Oaks, but still 225+ miles from home. Hoping in a few years we can pack up and move closer to our lanes if not to Nebraska. But until then, family comes first, I guess… {shrug}

oh, and yesterday I stopped at what looks to be a fairly new Rest Area Parking Only for Truckers just west of KC. I pull in to take a stretch and look for a good place to eat since I was BT and could get into more parking lots…

    BUT…

the parking area was FILLED and OVERFLOWING with trailers, bobtails, personal vehicles, even trucks being WORKED ON… it seemed more like a private rental yard for drivers to rent a space than truck parking only rest area.

    seemed so very very odd.
