Bidding on local lumber loads

$1,000.00/hr. Charges start when my truck leaves my property and stop upon it’s safe return to my property. Any accessorials will be passed on to you to include tolls, scale fees, drivers lunch, etc...

minimum of 3hours per load, 9hours per day.

0.54 cent per mile charge above 275 miles and below 400 miles per day. Above 400 miles per day will incur a .70cpm charge.

again all charges milage and hourly charges begin and end at my front gate!! Mileage charges are in addition to the hourly rates previously discussed.

There are some you tube videos about how to set rates. I have not watched them so cannot vouch for their veracity, but they might be a starting point.

 

First thing you need to figure out is your costs to operate and then add in what you want to make. Yeah easier said than done I know.

 

Local lumber is going to have a locally set rate. Your going to need to ask around in your area and figure out what it's worth to you

I've paid for special deliveries in the Puget Sound area and also paid drivers to move my truck between job sites. Out here there might be a ferry involved or insane traffic depending on the time of day. Moving my truck might be anywhere from a half rack to $500. I've also paid $600 to move an I beam 20 miles from the fabricator to a job site

Get to know the local companies. Good ones will take care of you. I'm mostly on the customer end of mine but have helped them move things when needed

 

535 mile load coming out of that general geography to my home 20 is being loaded on me right now for 2200$
