I have chain edge protection but they specifically state straps only. They even tell you to be cautious about the bungee hooks.... One of these places in this town gives you rope for the tarp near the coil.... A bit anal but it's their products....

Also still on the hunt for a friggin lawn mower. The struggle is real! I hate to spend money on such a thing, but I dont want to cheap out and pay for it later. Thinking about a new deere x series. However, nobody has stock. Stupid scamdemic!

Ya I have the X and the across. I'll look again at daybreak. I'm not going back up there tonight. Bosses tarps are monstrously heavy. And filled with earthworms and mucous...good times....

I would toss 2 straps in an x and then one over the center. That will get you legal. Since you don't want to crank down on them, toss another strap across the front at the bottom. That will keep it from inching forward.

Edit: we must have typed at the same time. You should be good then. I would feel good taking that down the road.

If you haul alot of skidded coils this company makes tarps that are reasonably priced and light and packable. A guy I load with uses them. Has like 30 of them on his truck....no joke.

It just a canvas bag. You slip it over, then throw your straps over it (with edge protectors) and go. Dude is in and out in like 20 min with 5 coils. Pretty awesome.

My cousin is coming for dinner on the 21st. Last time we were face to face was at his sister's funeral 8 years ago...we have talked on the phone or texted a few times over the year, but that's been it. He and the Mrs., will be 5 days in Yosemite with their children, grand children, and great-grand children, stopping overnight in Placrville before a week at Harvey's in Tahoe. So here is my dilema....what do I fix for dinner?
    1. Gochujang Sticky Steak bites, fried rice w/ shrimp.
    2. Hawaiian chicken skewers, fried rice w/shrimp.
    3. BBQ chicken stir-fry.
    4. Honey Garlic chicken skewers, fried rice w/shrimp.
Mama will be making her family favorite apple pie for desert....alamode of course!

I'll have to look at my options. His tarps are much heavier than what I used prior and they've sat and gotten rusty. Ok for now. Get me back outta winter fat slob mode but I'm not willing to break my back for a tarp

My pick would be whatever you can have ready ahead and cook or heat easily. So you can focus on the visit not the kitchen.
