This may be true, but I am profoundly grateful to realize early that this is not a game I want Walmart to deal me in on.

    WesternPlains and truckdriver31 Thank this.

I haven't, but now that you've mentioned them, I will. Do you have experience with them? What do you like/dislike?

Currently I'm tending toward staying put at my job the rest of the year, but I'm keeping my eyes open for local work with ample home time come winter.

I used to love the small wallyworld s in the country. Always had someone there who really knew what he was doing. No BS. If I showed up with a dry van load. The guy would point at a door with a trailer there. Say; drop and hook. Wed sign papers and I’d be gone in two seconds.
Not like the third biggest store in existence. Same situation. They’d have to consult some big shot. Tell me where I’ve been. Even though I didn’t. Then go through an act of Congress to tell me to drop and hook.
Was at one store in Denver area. Wallyworld driver there. He was all mad that; “They wouldn’t take my load! They told me to leave it and take that empty trailer!”

The process at the stores. Back up to an open door. Call the store. So someone will let you in the walk through door. (Otherwise they won’t answer your knocking for a millennia) So...
I called into the store. Girl said ok. Waited at walk through door. No answer? Went back to truck. Called in. Same girl. This time said; We only accept deliveries from x to x time. (Wrong thing to tell a Walmart delivery) So I said; ok... so I should tell them you’re refusing the load? She says; ohhhh ummm that depends. Who are you with? I said; wal mart. ... you could hear her rectum tightening over the phone. Hemorrhoids flaring. She figures she’ll outsmart me now. Says; Where are you from? I gave right DC. Could hear rectum tightening more. She’s in real pain now. She says: what are you delivering? Told her. She says; Why didnt you tell me!? I thought you were FedEx or something!

Went to one store. Had only one loading dock. All she did was feed me BS. So I went to sleep in the truck at the dock. Get knocking on my door at 4am. Another driver telling me I can’t take a break here. I told him I’m not taking a break. Been waiting since 10pm to be unloaded. He said they’re supposed to unload at 10pm.
It got done. Indication somebody was gonna get his ### chewed that night.

I don’t say too much in these areas.

Every now and then I throw a nugget.

Research, dress accordingly, and present. They’re local to you, right?

Loaded out, empty back. Requires a brain. Most employees 10 years plus. Profit sharing, benefits.
