If she was following at a safe distance it wouldn't have happened.

I wouldn’t call that tailgating. She seemed to be a reasonable distance behind the truck.

However, had she been checking her mirrors every six seconds, she would have been aware of traffic around her and could have swerved left to avoid the tire.

How’s that for Monday morning quarterbacking?

car drivers are not trained as we are. they don't have to be, they are not the professionals out there. she will win any lawsuit, over a dumbarse trucker who cannot or did not do a pre-trip. not telling what else is/was wrong with that truck.

I’m not for certain but that looks like one of UPS’ wiggle wagons that tire came off of.

Guess I'm old school taught for driving. When I learned to drive, back in the 80s. We were taught 1 second per 10 MPH of following distance. It's how I drove even before I got my CDL.

well, i learnt back in the wagon team days.....almost.

it's just not like that in the real world for 4 wheelers, to follow the rules to the T, like a CDL driver should.

everyday, i see people riding up on the butts of others. i know you have seen it too, if you been driving for at the very least, 2 weeks.

    it's the way it is.

the driver of that Rav 4 will never be found at fault, he/she had no mechanical defects.........the trucker and the company will pay dearly.

Wrong. That driver went over on his hours six months ago, so it's his fault. Time to call THE HAMMER. The only number you need to remember is 4!!!!
