Going down the road or at idle

Low fluid light comes on then stop engine light then truck loses power for a second then picks back up. At idle it will do this but catch itself before completely turning off.

Only fault is High Oil Temp, sensor doesnt work. This truck doesnt have a coolant level sensor. Oil pressure is good (use to have that fault but changed the sensor)

Temp sensor is one wire going to oil pan. (can that make it stop) coolant level plug is open not plugged into anything, no low pressure oil codes, just did oil change.

Any ideas would help Thanks in advance.

Look for wires that are taped off on top firewall or on top of eng. that went to low fluid sensor to see if they are rubbed raw or touching metal some where to set off warning light?

The single wire in the pan is a temp sender, not a temp sensor. It only operates the gauge. The oil temp sensor would not cause both lights to come on, so my assumption would be you're either losing ignition or ecm power.

Are the lights that come on the same as when you would first turn the key on?

The oil temp sensor is located at the oil pump.

If I lost ecm wouldnt that clear the faults? Plus would that make the low fluids light come on and stop engine light come on.

Faults are stored as inactive until cleared with a computer. Do those lights come on when.you turn your key on? If yes, then yes, it's possible

You say the only fault is high oil temp. Are you flashing this, or hooking to computer?

Sensors or sending units could be failing. Grounding is as important as power feeds.
Also check the battery power feed to the ECM.
    Good luck.

I checked my batteries grabbed every wire to tug on them moved ever sensor around trying to make it cut off and pulled on the ground wires nothing so far. I fixed 3 wires that were damaged 2 going to the position sensor under compressor and 1 next to it a 2prog. Just sent drive to get inactive codes pulled.

Keep trucking app shows road speed sensor and oil temp only . Truck only shows 241 road speed not the oil temp.

What lights first come on when key turned on? Could be a truck issue causing temporary lack of 12v. Possible loose positive/ground into cab from starter, at ignition relay, etc. Multiple possibilities. Don't rule out ECM failure, very common, but most quit and don't restart, but still Possible.

Ignition or ecm power/ground would still be my first guess.

Ok just died at the shop no check engine light will crank but not start I know check engine needs to cycle first so this time it wont come on.
