Word of advise. Stay out of the pickle parks in Ohio on Interstate highways

Motor carrier enforcement dont normally patrol the Ohio turnpike. But once in awhile they will work it for a week. The Ohio Turnpike is not owned or operated by the State. They have to be invited or show up for a wreck. OSP is basically rented for services on OTP. Used to not issue points on license for violation on TP. Because your paying to drive on a private road.

While most commercial truck stops would be private property. They are more than likely private property/public patrolled. A owner or manager can ask the cop to leave. I have seen it happen. But as a owner op. You have no leg to stand on. Unless its your property.

I always pass my inspections. I went in the store used the restroom and got my receipt while he was doing data entry on his computer then we moved to a parking spot and he did the whole 9 yards. Its that kinda #### that drives business away from those truck stops..

DOT does the same #### up by the TA by Tallidagia I think it was. They sit right at the exit of the TA and pull you over to do inspections. As a result, I stopped going there when I'm in that area.

Also to make this story even better, I get out on the road and see big red line of traffic on google maps. Was an hour & a half delay on google maps. The road was closed from a wreck so I took an exit went around through the hillbilly lands of North FL.. get back to i10 just past the wreck not a single car on the road headed west. I've never see i10 with no cars/trucks anything.. I got off only 1 other car got off with me everyone else kept going into the blocked road.. lol

Anyway, the next weigh station was like 10 miles after I got on.. Still no traffic..so of course, they pull me onto the sales.. I'm the only truck.. then they say "driver go around to the inspection station"..

I'm like you have to be kidding... I pull out the inspection sheet tell him I just got inspected 20 min s ago.. Still say drive around back they might let you go..

So I have to drive around back and there is like 4 DOT guys all waiting.. I show them the paper and they ended up letting me go.. I was like there is no #### way I'm getting 2 LVL 1'st in 30 mins...

I’ve been pulled over in Louisiana on the freeway. Seen the cop pull up behind me he started doing some weird swerving thing next thing I know lights come on I pull over and he’s like we’re doing random inspections today. I passed that was my first and only inspection I was no where near a weigh station or anything it was in the middle of the day on a busy highway cars and trucks flying by doing 70mph+ and here we are on the shoulder like sitting ducks while he reviews my logs

The only time I ever had an Inspection in a semi was side of the road on i75.. To me that is just absolutely stupid for DOT to do this stuff like that..

I've seen in Ohio before they will sit just before a rest area and pull you over so you go into the rest area and they do it there.

Imo that's how they should do roadside inspections. Way safer.

By this logic the random roadside inspection you get at the weight station would be thrown out. Also a bit of google search. Per Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations. "These regulations state a truck operator may be pulled over without probably cause and searched so long as the search is more of an inspection than an actual search. This inspection is often referred to as an administrative inspection and must be granted so long as the purpose is to perform a reasonable inspection in order to uphold the regulations of the industry."

So you my friend are full of what is in a bull haulers trailer.

Yes exactly I was so confused that he wanted to do it on the shoulder with traffic flying by constantly. Horrible timing and location thankfully everything worked out but merging back on after was a pita
