I put a core in my '82 WS, got it from one of those "radiator guys" in Chicago, and all I told them was the model and year of the truck, 4964. It was an easy job and solved my cooling problems.

I needed to replace the radiator in a '89 chevy C70, not an uncommon truck back in the day by any stretch, couldn't find one anywhere. Ended up taking the bad radiator to an old school "radiator shop" and had it re-cored, wasn't cheap. While talking to the owner, an older gent well into his '70's, he told me that shops like his were slowly becoming extinct. Why?, because of not much need anymore. Today we mostly have aluminum radiators, they go bad, scrap them and replace with new. Problem's compounded that few places stock parts for older trucks/equipment.
Try and find a shop that knows how to properly re-core it for you, good luck.... -
You need to be sure that its still a low/flow cooling, most of them have been changed back to the old cooling system?

Did you ever find a radiator? If so where?
n4ane Thanks this.
