"According to O’ Kelley, the proposed truck stop would include a convenience store with one attached restaurant with a drive-thru and one attached restaurant without a drive-thru, a Speedco Truck Care Center, passenger car fueling and parking areas, diesel truck fueling and parking areas, recreational vehicle parking areas and holding tank unloading facilities, a dog park, a Caterpillar truck scale and a propane tank."

I've never hauled caterpillars but it would be nice to have that special scale just in case

Well that sucks and as a motor carrier I
don’t go to Texas. But I am sorry I have to agree and it not going yo be a popular opinion. This industry while vast majority are hard working people. We have a minority of stinking, inconsiderate, pigs in this industry. You know the slobs that can’t walk 50 yards to a trash receptacle, piss and defecate in the lots. Think they are special because they drive a truck and everyone else should kiss their #####. The inconsiderate pricks who think the parking lots are a race track

You have that backwards, the MINORITY is the hard working considerate individual.

We are drawn from the same population pool as everything else, remember the 80/20 rule

80 % of people do 20 % of the work
20 % of people do 80 % of the work

My background is in development, so perhaps it's unclear if you are unfamiliar with the development process, but: My read of the situation vis that the traffic impact study had not been approved yet, so they tabled it until that's done. I didn't see anything in the article that led me to believe they want to put the kibosh on the project. Quite the contrary, it seems thru recently modified their standards in preparation for it. My guess is it's probably still a go unless they decide the traffic impacts are unacceptable, and even then they would likely offer a remedy for the developer which would likely add additional expense. Just my read of the article, I could be mistaken.
