The best part is they now charge like 40 bucks for that roller coaster. Just ran it up from NC to cross at Detroit a couple weeks ago after having not been on it in a few years.
Trucker61016 and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
Well .. you could be running up and down 95 between Jersey and Florida. That would be mostly flat.
D.Tibbitt, Trucker61016, Just passing by and 2 others Thank this. -
Meanwhile in West Virginia.....
D.Tibbitt, Blue jeans, Magoo1968 and 22 others Thank this. -
I actually enjoy it. I also enjoy LA traffic while going 5 under and everyone else seems to be doing 65+. Scares the #### out of me.
I just went around the NY metro and some bright bulb passed me on the shoulder. They got back in the lane and my radar clocked them at 110…Blue jeans, Trucker61016, JolliRoger and 3 others Thank this. -
D.Tibbitt, Blue jeans, nikmirbre and 6 others Thank this.

I don’t mind that stretch between Bland, VA and Charleston too much. But be careful, it will sneak up on you and give you a false sense of safeness. Take it slow
Blue jeans, Trucker61016, 77fib77 and 2 others Thank this. -
It is not just I-77, most roads in WV are the same... go up US-19 out of Beckley to I-79, then across I-68 E towards I-81.
Try I-80 from the WY line to SLC. East coast mountains are easy once you visit the west.Blue jeans, nikmirbre, Trucker61016 and 4 others Thank this. -
For me starting out there was always a big impulse to keep it floored and keep trying to grab a higher gear. Don't do that. Find the highest gear you can hold and just maintain a normal rpm instead. Much less stressful, for both you and the truck.Last edited: Jun 17, 2021
Blue jeans, sealevel, ncmickey and 5 others Thank this. -
But the rockies do have all the wind though. You haven't lived until you've done i80 thru Wyoming in a 70mph crossbreeze and a -20 wind chill. Every patch of ice is a new adventure.
Then there's i90 thru Montana with the snow piled higher than the truck, almost as if you're in a tunnel with no roof. There's nothing quite like chaining up under threat of avalanche.Last edited: Jun 17, 2021
