Family of 10 injured in wreck with semi truck

    The father died in the wreck.

    A family of ten was involved in a serious wreck with a semi truck in Utah on Tuesday night, claiming the life of the father and injuring his wife and ten kids.

    The accident happened on June 22nd in Tooele just after 8 p.m.

    According to ABC 4 News, the father was driving an SUV pulling a trailer east on Interstate 80 near mile marker 78 when he apparently fishtailed, sending the SUV and trailer into the side of a semi truck, also traveling east.

    The SUV and attached trailer then lost total control, spinning until it struck the center median and overturned, landing on its roof.

    The driver and father of the family was fatally injured in the wreck and died on scene. The mother and eight children were injured in the wreck, but none of their injuries were considered life-threatening. All were transported to a nearby hospital shortly after the wreck. No other injuries were reported.


    The Utah Highway Patrol says the crash is still under investigation.

    I pray for the comfort of his family & the trucker a tragic situation. I pray for his wife & children bodies are healed and love surrounds them as they deal with the loss of her husband and their father. May The Lord Jesus Christ bless them all.

    I hope the trucker dotted his I’s and crossed his t’s .. I can see them suing even though it’s not his fault. With such a big family juries might be for them .

    Another unfortunate case of a 4 wheeler pulling a trailer going too fast while pulling it. Ideally the most you want to go while pulling trailers (whether it’s a U-Haul,R/V camper or something else) is 55 mph (a few states have staggered speed limits reflecting that),anything higher than that is suicide!
    I’ve had quite a few close calls with people “wagging the tail” on their trailers,simply because they didn’t reduce their speed-the last time was on I-69 in Indiana,and that guy was driving a full-size Ford Excursion!

    Edit: I just listened to news report and they said it was a Ford Excursion.

    Fair enough. Was going to say it wouldnt be the first time ive seen them call a transit a suv when it was towing though. Then again ive also seen them call a ford raptor with a shell a ford exploder before....

    This is exactly what I’m talking about,everyone thinks they can drive oversize SUVs pulling trailers at breakneck speeds.

    Transit vans can be built with a number of configurations.
