Why, it is the best place to park. Lots of places to eat, good Blues Bars. As long as you leave before the people with the ticket book, gets up.

I delivered an elevator a few weeks back to St. Louis Park, MN, a Minneapolis suburb. Very fancy condos, with a set of finished condos to the right out of the picture. I was pretty surprised to see 3 dry boxes parked on the street in front of the finished condos. I can kind of see their point. 74EFCA06-AE40-4FDF-BBDC-2AADCFFD687F.jpeg

Well Minnesota wanted all these somalis and made truck drivers out of them ...then gave them financing on trucks .
Where did they think they would be parking them ?
Most of theyre trucks look like junk so they obviously can't afford to pay for parking even if it was there .
I started my trucking career in Minneapolis in 1987 and back then the city didn't care as long as you wernt stupid about it ..nowadays Washington Ave is like a Somali truckstop as is northeast Minneapolis over on harding st , its hard to plow streets crowded with trucks .
Maybe the city should buy up the abandoned malls like Brookdale and north town and get these guys off the streets ...like it or not they are here to stay .
This is getting to be a problem in other areas with resettled refugees turned truck drivers like .
    St.cloud mn .
    Fargo nd .
    Des miones ia .
    Waterloo ia .
    Lincoln ne .
    Etc .

Most of those cats live in Omar's 5th district and want to park close to their homes..we all do but, that just happens to be too close to the tonier parts on Mpls. Lots of legal parking and a ton in the industrial areas but those must be too far away. I don't think the complaints stem from overnight parking but from the sometimes weeks at a time street storage..and like you say most of the rigs aren't winning a spot on the calendar...lol

Back when I lived in the city I used to hate seeing all the clapped out dump trucks parked on my residential street. Was a happy day when bylaw came and took out the trash.

I get most of my info from my pal that works for kemps on Broadway and shuttles trailers up to the old gateway warehouse .
I partially grew up at 2810 Aldrich Ave north when it wasn't a ghetto ....good times but best thing I ever did was leave the cities .
