    Find a local construction company to start, you will more then likely start off as a laborer but you will be able to drive the truck, learn to operate too and get that license if your in one of the few states that requires it

    Old Dominion Freight Line in Commerce City has local and line haul/out & back runs.
    Local pays $28.70 hr. Line Haul drivers usually make more as far as weekly paychecks go.

    I would certainly suggest driving for a company before heading out on your own with your own authority. You have an accounting/bookkeeping/management degree, so that will make it much much easier to transition to owner operator from company driver. You already understand the business side of things. But trucking is a lifestyle and before investing a ton of your own money, you might want to see if the lifestyle is actually suited to you. I wish you luck. Cheers!

    Hell yeah! I am a college grad myself. It goes to show, that while a college degree is valuable, it really don't mean that much in the real world. One doesn't go to college to get a job, one only goes to college to broaden their thinking. Broader thinking will help one navigate the world and find the steady money

    Linehaul Driver CDL Academy - (21042E)
    Primary Location
    : US-CO-Aurora
    $18.00/ hr (Student driver) - Once you receive your Class A CDL you will increase significantly to a qualified driver’s pay.
    Yellow trains individuals interested in becoming Linehaul drivers and obtaining a Class A CDL at the Yellow Truck Driving Academies. Yellow’s training programs are a US Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program. Academy classes meet 8-hours a day, 5-days a week for 4 weeks. While at the Driving Academy, students earn a wage and travel is paid to the academy site, if over an hour from home. After successful completion of the Driving Academy, students test for a Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsements.
