I noticed some of those Euro trucks said "MAN" on the front. Probably stands for "MAN" Euro trucks are ugly! :biggrin_25525:

Well , pretty soon lot of American trucks are going to be Mexican trucks with Daimler and Navistar moving more and more production to Mexico . They should change the name of Western Star to Southern Star .

The most important difference between Euro and American trucks is total cost of ownership. Good ole US trucks used to be built to set records because the makers had to listen owner operators voice.

Since many years already Europe became social-democracy where there is no place for small bussiness and everything is being monopolized by multinational corporations. One of the ways to get rid of owner-drivers is to inflate truck prices and costs of ownership by saturating them rigs with useless but extremely expensive electronics. Introducing new, reportedly "clean" but totally unreliable engines and generally shortening lifespan by pushing new emission laws. Then there is no way to compete with huge carriers, the only ones who can afford constant fleet replacements.

Sounds familiar? Yep, welcome to new world

If you're talking just styling, euro trucks are pretty much as big as they can get and still get where they need to go. Most euro cities are very very old and thus still have very narrow streets and tight corners.

One time I remember my Patriot unit was going to the west border of Germany to play war games with the Air Force. Our radar unit couldn't make one of the corners and took out the corner of a building.

But that unit is kinda long too.
