Try to get that ticket downgraded. The company will know it's been downgraded, but may still keep you.

I know, but some companies hire drivers in that situation and call it refresher.

UsualSuspect and Solo Soul Thank this.

I agree. At this point, you aint been found guilty of anything. Even if you're convicted at worse, it aint going to be within three weeks. Here in Louisiana, it wouldnt even be on your record in 3 months. It aint gonna show up for many weeks & maybe a few months. Its got a lot of legal mumbo jumbo to go through before it gets to your MVR. Heck, I bet your court date aint even within 3 weeks. No way in Heavens Gate can it be on your record within 3 weeks.

Now, as @bad-luck says, get an attorney and let him plead it down to a seatbelt or some other NON-moving violation. This is what they do every day. They (attorneys) spent many thousands of $ & several years in college to do this for you so they can get compensated. It wont take him 3 days to get this reduced.... maybe even 10 minutes.... seriously. Most likely he'll make a phone call to an assistant DA in that county & within a few minutes, they'll have a deal. It may take a few days to get through that process & he has it in writing but, I'll bet he'll have a deal in place before he goes to lunch. Let him do what he does EVERY DAY. It aint a murder trial.... its a speeding ticket.

Pay the man, pay the fine, keep your mouth shut & move on. No one will ever know anything about it.

Seriously, just man up and talk to them about it. If you’re going to fight it, tell them.
Why walk around looking over your shoulder for the next few months?

Court date is September 9th of this year.

Now I'm sitting in this hotel wondering why I even quit my job.

Wondering if I say nothing if I'm just going to be randomly fired one day after getting my own truck.

The issue is that I have 3 weeks of training with no pay. I only get paid at .44 cents a mile after the 3 weeks so if I get fired right when I start making money I'll be close to broke.

Maybe I'm just at a low point but now I'm regretting quitting my job and getting into this new career.

If it falls through, Western Express will probably hire you. It's a 2nd chance company.
    Western Express
Western Express is now hiring company truck drivers, trainees, and driver trainers.

Take a breath man. It will get reduced and you'll be there for much longer than 3 weeks before anything hits the MVR. If not, there's always Western Express lol

If he tells them he'll be sent home within 5 minutes.
He's not proven guilty of anything yet and his MVR is clean until he is found guilty. Innocent until proven guilty.

1099 companies will hire you with that ticket.
You'll get fat paychecks because no taxes are withheld. You'll have to manage your own taxes with whoever does your income taxes.

    Solo Soul Thanks this.

I agree but would specifically ask the attorney to get it pleaded to something that wasn't a seatbelt violation if possible. I've heard that one is also very bad for CDLs.

Solo Soul and Bean Jr. Thank this.
