Just got my AZ in Canada, ontario last April 2021. How the heck do you land a job in this field? Every company requires min 6months to 2 years experience. Can't find a single trainee program nor team job that is willing to take on inexperienced driver. Can someone direct me the right way please super desperate here. Appreciate any help

    CanadianTrucker705 and bark77 Thank this.

Local farms, old beat up stick-shift CAT engine haulers. No A/C, no DEF, no Cameras, and often not even a seatbelt -- best of the best.

Start off on the dock. They will let you shunt trailers, maybe do a delivery or two. Baby steps. Work up.

schneider national hires new drivers but covid may have screwed everything up right now .You will have to pass a physical test on first day of training then drug test . the test involves things like lifting a milk crate a bunch of times or lifting it then walking over to a table and putting it down . they check your heart rate and blood pressure after each activity .if your heart rate is higher then what it should be for your age u fail . i failed the first time because i couldn’t keep my back straight when lift the crate with weights . i had to join a gym and work out then reapply .

Gordon Food Services hires anyone... Highlight also hires anyone... Your school should also be helping you, didn't they have recruiters come in?

I can give you a company name to work for, they pay slave wages for 6 months but after the pay is normal. It's called JB express out of Kleinburg ON. I worked there for about 7 months. Better than nothing to be honest.

A lot will depend on where you got your training. The big fleets that hire new drivers will only hire from certain schools.Challenger will hire new drivers and put them with a trainer to get experience but they won't take on anyone from the "fly by night" schools.

Talkin' bout 'fly by night' schools, a whole bunch of em' just popped up here on the West coast. That's the best trucking biz to be in right now, take the noobs in, take their money, and kick em out the back, rinse n' repeat. Plenty of desperados out there lookin' to get out of the warehouse or whatever #### job they got themself stuck in, meanwhile the trucking meat grinder is ten times worse! Hilarious how little people know.
