And even then, you might win the battle, and lose the war. A person’s right to free speech doesn’t extend to slander, liable, or defamation. Companies have rights too: to deal with situations using due process, while not violating employees’ rights, nor labor relations regulations. Companies don’t always behave morally or ethically, even if what they do is legal. One example that seems to be universal is in their recruiting ads. They use the words, “up to” when referring to pay and miles. They say they will hire a driver with little or no experience, and after advertising 50 and more cents per mile and 2500 miles per week, or weekly pay of $1200-$1700, they may only pay 30 some cents per mile, and you may sit and wait for a load, to get loaded, and to get unloaded, instead of accruing miles, and not come close to the advertised numbers. And it’s all legal. Makes it tough to pick a company you want to work for. Forums and reviews provide information to ponder, but we wonder how many satisfied and happy drivers write reviews, and how many of the dissatisfied drivers are good workers and are doing their jobs. A lot of employees don’t make the connection between the quality of their work and the success of the company, and the success of the company to the quality of their job. It seems human nature is programmed to complain, and not to complement. A satisfied customer won’t tell anyone, and a dissatisfied customer will tell everyone. Good luck all.

How do you check drivers before hiring them? is there a website company can post reviews about drivers?
We just hired one, clean MVR, not even one violation, 10 years of experience, called companies he worked for. Nothing bad. And now here we are, damaged load and took off with the truck somewhere we had to involve police to find a truck.... Wish I can report that driver so other companies no need to deal with him

Sorry about your luck but you did everything you could. If previous employers gave him a pass then maybe check the phone numbers he have you with the ones on those companies directories to be sure he didnt have a friend or two pretending to be old employers

If it's a truthful comment the FTC should protect I think. Companies aren't people therefore they dont have rights or aren't supposed to at least to my understanding. Also merit is pretty important. A single comment should lack merit or attention of the courts and be protected again by free speech and or the FTC. That's my understanding in my opinion.

I've never understood why people voluntarily go through the trouble to work for one of these starterout companies, knowing they're a bottom of the barrel outfit, then talk bad about them. It says a lot about the company but also says a lot about the poster

Dude, take your sales pitch somewhere else, not wanted or needed here. In fact, it’s just a matter of time before your post is yanked.
