Truckstop violence seems to be going up between drivers and general public , and let’s face it truckstops and industrial Area’s tend to Attract a lot of bottom feeders , with no security visual a driver could Actually be taking his life in his Hands , violence could Almost happen while on a highway or anywhere else there have been many reports of motorists being randomly shot for cutting someone of. Even certain parts of the Country some drive about shooting random people , not gangs just being in the wrong place at the wrong time , and in general violence seems to be getting way out of Control .
Who Actually feels safe while out on the road

I feel perfectly safe out here. I park in well lit 24/7 Truck Stops the vast majority of the time. I keep to myself, and make it a point not to run my mouth to ANYBODY!! 99.999% of the time......that is where the virtually non existent "truck stop violence" starts.Practice Situational Awareness, you'll be just fine.

I feel safe and carry self defense.
After 30+ years out here I don’t park in truck stops very often I stay out of areas like Chicago, New York City and anywhere north east. Situational awareness and listen to voice in your head that warms you. Don’t ignore it.CorsairFanboy, Trucker61016, Lumper Humper and 9 others Thank this. -

If you apply the Smith System and let the pack go ahead, you should be able to avoid road rage or pile up of sorts. I don't engage in conversations at the TS, close up the curtains and keep to myself. I try very hard to blend in with the background... and am careful of where I choose to park for any breaks. Unfortunately I am not allowed any pets, or my pit bull would come along all the time. Being aware of your surroundings goes a long way in keeping safe also.
