I understand wanting to shut them down because of disease transfer, but what I don't understand is completely ripping them out and spending the extra money to remodel the whole restaurant and make sure they never return.

They can outsource the space to fast food/ etc and make the profit via lease payments without any investment/personnel.

Driver health is not a concern for truck stops.

The fuel island at The Petro in OKC has the best pre made salads on the interstate.

I've never had one from there. Better than the salads at Sapp Bros?

That's the excuse every other restaurant in America made in the beginning so I just simply assumed it was being applied to big corporate truck stop chains because scapegoating.

It's just an opportunity for them, and other industries, to kill a segment of their operation that didn't make money hand over fist.

Drivers stopped eating at the restaurants even before the pandemic. TA used to have buffet in all or most of their restaurants 15 years ago. Flying J had buffets when they had Thads restaurant and they were not part of Pilot.

Petro in Rochelle IL still has salad bar.
They even had spinach. Keep that non nutritious lettuce garbage. T/A Petro will soon have all restaurants gone snd fast food artery clogging #### food or fast food #### everywhere. Meanwhile charging $3.00 for .50 worth of fruit and veggies in the cups. Or lard logs on the ####ty rolled grills.
