Anyone have experience with this engine? Currently own a 2004 freightliner with a Cat that I'm selling and looking for a possible replacement. Truck will be loaded to about 81,500 one way, empty back. Looking for an idea on fuel mileage, hopefully better than the 5.25 I get now, maintenance needed at current mileage if not done and what the general reliability is. I've only had one tow and one service call on my freightliner in 5 years and would like to keep it that way. Screenshot_20210715-190153_Chrome.jpg

    What's the axle ratio?

What type of terrain will you be driving in.

Waiting on dealer to get me the ratio. I found a few similar spec ones with 2.50 but waiting on verification.

    Will be run florida only.

as long as you drive a reasonable speed so from 65-68 should be good on fuel most of mine with eco torque are running around 6.7-7 at that speed pulling refer

Usually run around 65 but trailer is aerodynamically changed. If it still pulls numbers like that I'd be happy.

Oh my goodness. 405 hp D13 won’t get up any hill. Save yourself this mistake. It’s to weak. You will be loosing speed empty, let alone loaded to 81k

Not many hills here in florida. Decided to hold off and go back to being a company driver for now. Let someone else pay for the truck for a while.
